Biot - Côte d'Azur
Biot is a most picturesque medieval village whose history goes back to 150 B.C. when the Romans
reigned over Biot. Like so many small French villages on the Côte it is situated on a hill for better protection against intruders.
Whether this function is as effective today as it was many centuries ago is somewhat questionable.
Given its central location Biot is the ideal gateway to explore the Côte d'Azur irrespective
of whether you are looking for a relaxed vacation or an active holiday:
Sun Devotees simply have to make a a choice (not always easy) between the
beach and the pool. Nature Lovers will want to discover some of the French "parcs naturels", stroll along
the Isles des Lérins or visit the "Gorges du Verdon" - or any of the other gorgeous marvels of nature. Culture Amateurs
will not find the time to visit all interesting spots during a single stay. Art Adepts would no doubt wish
to visit the art galeries in St. Paul de Vence and Mougins or find out what the region inherited from the likes of Picasso,
Chagall, Matisse and Léger. Antiques Freaks are unlikely to miss out on "les antiquaires du port" in
Nice or indeed the Nice Monday market or any of the other "brocantes". Gourmets can work their
way up from McDonalds to any of the Michelin three stars. Shoppers will surely have a go at the Croisette
in Cannes or any of the big malls, but might equally wish to visit the Friday market in Ventimiglia (just across the
Italian border). Night Owls are more likely to visit Juan les Pins at night than during the day. Aquatic
Fans can do their thing above or below water, just as they like. Whilst Golfers will have no difficulties
exploring a new course on any day of their stay.
